Grand Haven MI Wedding Photographer

Something so wonderful about the calm docks in the springtime. Met with these two last month and got to hang on their boat and have drinks/avocados with them.

They are soooo obsessed with avocados I insisted they eat some, they are also obsessed with their dogs (and so am I honestly…so many dog photos were delivered) so I insisted they bring them as well. The sails weren’t up on the boat yet but we enjoyed the calm and quiet of the docks this time of year.

These two are so so very obviously in love. You can barely keep John away from Holly and I LOVE IT THAT WAY. John kept getting excited every time I asked him to hold Holly or kiss her (in fact sometimes I had to pry them away for more of the artsy stuff :D). They both make each other laugh in that all the way deep in your belly laugh way and it made it really hard for ME not to laugh endlessly with them (camera shake is a real concern ya’ll!).

Having known John since what? High School probably (did we go to middle school together? I can’t remember..thank goodness I can’t remember much of middle school, haha) I am so thankful he found Holly. They are the perfect compliment to each other and I’m so excited to capture their wedding next month!!!

I had such a blast with these two and their adorable pups! Photoshoots with dogs are my favorite, they always make for adorably hilarious photos.

Super special thanks to John’s wonderful mother for coming along and dog wrangling! She is featured in a GIF!!! PLEASE always bring your pets to your engagement session, but don’t forget to bring a handler to help out! Dogs tend to get overwhelmed by cameras and need time away to pee and poo and just do regular dog things. I AM OBSESSED with dogs and very good with handling all sizes/breeds, but please bring a friend!. Nashville Wedding Photographer

KENDRA AND BRAD (and Nashville, TN!)

Last month* I had the pleasure of visiting Kendra and Brad in Nashville, TN to capture their love in their current home + town. While they both hail from the mitten state, they call Nashville their home and it’s easy to see why they love it so much. It was 70 degrees the entire time I was there, sunny, and the people are amazing. See, I lived in the south for a few years, and I visited Nashville frequently, but I never really realized one thing. NO ONE WHO LIVES IN NASHVILLE IS FROM NASHVILLE!! I have a habit of finding

See, I lived in the south for a few years, and I visited Nashville frequently, but I never really realized one thing. NO ONE WHO LIVES IN NASHVILLE IS FROM NASHVILLE!! I have a habit of finding the locals so I can find all the good local spots for hot chicken, waffles, and beers. HOWEVER, I came to find out, pretty much everyone I talk to is from somewhere else. Nashville is such a cool artsy town full of vibrant people and beautiful sites. Hanging with these two was so much fun I basically forced them to go to brunch with me the next day.

They are getting married back here in the Mitten this fall surrounded by family and friends and I am so excited they asked ME to be a part of their amazing day.

Oh and if anyone wants me to come to Nashville again, I AM SO DOWN. I need more hot chicken in my life and I need to visit those red pandas at the zoo again.

Chicago Wedding Photographer 

Sweet sweet engagement photo season. How I LOVE THEE. Met up with these two cuties in March and OF COURSE there was rain in the forecast (Kinda seems to be the thing on the daily here in the midwest/chicago).  We were not all about that reschedule life so we decided to just do it! They had already picked out Southport Lanes as one of their locations, they MET because of a bowling league <3 so that helped. We got to the bowling alley before they even opened and they were so wonderful to let us in and have the whole place to ourselves (which I guess is really rare, as this is the OLDEST bowling alley in the city of Chicago, and VERY popular!).

We then ventured to the lake to enjoy the sites. This is where I always get my directions confused. I grew up in Grand Haven, MI where the lake is to the WEST, so almost everytime I am in Chicago I get directionally challenged. The struggle is real ya’ll. But thanks to google maps and these two I didn’t fall into a lake or drive off into a building. We then explored a few pockets of the city while doging rain and getting cozy under umbrellas.

I am flippin out excited about their wedding in July! They are getting married near Grand Rapids and Lindsey and Ryan plan on JUMPING INTO THE LAKE at the end of the night!!! I freaking can’t wait. We got sooo lucky with some amazing fog on the Chicago skyline for this session, I sure hope the weather is our best friend for their wedding day.
